In reality, there&#8217;s little to joke about <strong>when the sea is rough or the wind is strong<\/strong>, or when the transfer is performed <strong>clumsily<\/strong>, causing injuries or drownings. <\/p>\n<p><strong>It can happen to anyone<\/strong>: guests unaccustomed to navigation, elderly people with mobility difficulties, children, but also experienced boat owners betrayed by a moment of distraction.<\/p>\n<p>In short, we can all <strong>lose our balance<\/strong> in that crucial moment when we have one foot on the tender and the other on the boat. Here are some tips for boarding safely and <strong>avoiding any type of accident<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tuttobarche.it\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/05\/E-tender.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-60911\" title=\"E-tender\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tuttobarche.it\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/05\/E-tender-300x187.jpg\" alt=\"E-tender\" width=\"600\" height=\"374\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>The tender must be stable<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tuttobarche.it\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/05\/salire-tender-barca-coppia.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-60902\" title=\"boarding tender boat couple\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tuttobarche.it\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/05\/salire-tender-barca-coppia-300x171.jpg\" alt=\"boarding tender boat couple\" width=\"440\" height=\"250\"><\/a>First of all, when you are about to perform transfer operations and <strong>the crew is quite numerous<\/strong>, you must ensure that the tender is as stable as possible.<\/p>\n<p>The real problem, in fact, lies in the <strong>distribution of weights<\/strong> (people, bags, objects, various equipment) on board the inflatable boat.<\/p>\n<p>If the weights are not evenly distributed, if there are more people sitting on the left tube rather than on the right one, the inflatable boat becomes unbalanced on one side and <strong>the equilibrium becomes precarious<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>It may seem rather trivial to remember, but <strong>how many times have we seen people tip over<\/strong> <strong>all to one side<\/strong> of the dinghy and fall into the water before trying to board the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marinaportoantico.it\/vivere-in-barca-sogno-che-diventa-realta.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">boat<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Watch out for missteps<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tuttobarche.it\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/05\/salire-tender-barca-easy-tender.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-60905\" title=\"boarding tender boat easy tender\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tuttobarche.it\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/05\/salire-tender-barca-easy-tender-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"boarding tender boat easy tender\" width=\"440\" height=\"293\"><\/a>Moving from one unit to another is not as simple a movement as one might think, <strong>it requires attention<\/strong> and we must never underestimate our worst enemy: the misstep.<\/p>\n<p>Yes, because once we have placed one foot on the boat, immediately after lifting the supporting foot from the inflatable, the <strong>risk of pushing the tender away from the boat<\/strong> is always lurking: the legs spread beyond the limit, the scene becomes comical and here it is&#8230; man overboard.<\/p>\n<p>The inflatable boat, in fact, is <strong>prone to slipping in the water<\/strong>, being made up of floating tubes and an almost flat hull.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Boarding from the tender to the boat from the side<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tuttobarche.it\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/05\/spiaggetta-di-poppa.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-60908\" title=\"stern platform\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tuttobarche.it\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/05\/spiaggetta-di-poppa-300x189.jpg\" alt=\"stern platform\" width=\"440\" height=\"278\"><\/a>If we want to board from the side, we must ensure that there is a portion of free space on the sides of the boat, <strong>specifically for access<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>These &#8220;<strong>safety gates<\/strong>&#8221; are found at points where the guardrail is interrupted, usually on the left or right between the cockpit and the <strong>shrouds<\/strong> (which can also be used to grab onto, being long, resistant, and easily graspable).<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, along the bulkhead of many yachts, there is almost always the possibility of mounting <strong>ladders or step-shaped fenders<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>On more sophisticated boats, <strong>the transom lowers<\/strong>, creating a wide area for transit, or there is a <strong>swim platform<\/strong>, where you can sunbathe or dive. Both methods represent excellent solutions for transfer operations from a tender. <\/p>\n<p>As a final suggestion, remember to use <strong>a line from the inflatable<\/strong> and tie it to a cleat on the boat before starting the transfer on board: at least you&#8217;ll be sure that <strong>the tender won&#8217;t drift away from the boat<\/strong>. For the rest, watch out for missteps.
