August is the quintessential summer vacation month, and indeed many boaters have already taken advantage of our online boat berth booking<\/a> service in our tourist port of Genoa: the opportunity is to moor right in the Porto Antico, and thus enjoy \u2013 in addition to an optimal position on the Ligurian coast \u2013 a stay in the heart of the city’s historic center. But what events will enrich Genoa and Liguria in August? Here, for completeness, we have already seen the most beautiful beaches of Genoa, as well as the most beautiful beaches of Liguria.<\/a> <\/p>\n\n

\"genoa<\/figure>\n\n

Festival in a Summer Night:<\/strong> the 27th edition of the festival presents various dates from July to September. For August, the first event is on August 1st with the prose of The Tempest, in Piazza San Matteo; continuing on August 2nd, with the prose and music of Grido d’Amore, also in Piazza San Matteo; and on August 5th with the prose of Io e Marconi. The program also includes two aperitifs dedicated to the theme “Life in the Fields” at Palazzi Giulio Pallavicino. <\/p>\n\n

\"staglieno<\/figure>\n\n

Guided tour of the <\/strong>Staglieno Monumental Cemetery:<\/strong> <\/a>three itineraries to discover all the wonders of the Cemetery, with guided tours combined with performances by Teatro dell’Ortica. The dates for this month are August 4th, August 10th, and August 25th. Traces of the Middle Ages at Castello d’Albertis, on August 18th: guided tours have already been organized this summer to discover the medieval traces in the famous residence of Captain Enrico d’Albertis;<\/a> the event repeats on Sunday, August 18th. <\/p>\n\n

Summer Park Genoa, until August 18th:<\/strong> for the first time, the famous Genoa Winter Park transforms into Summer Park Genoa. Just steps away from our tourist port in Genoa, an amusement park has been opened with 80 total attractions, including several completely new water attractions. <\/p>\n\n

Porto Antico Summer Show 2024<\/strong>, until August 28th: we’ve reached the final weeks of the festival. Between August 6th and 9th, there will be the last concerts at Piazza delle Feste, while from August 19th to 29th, the Isola delle Chiatte will host various productions by the Chierici Cicolella Company. Poets and Heroes, from brush to sword, until October: an exhibition focusing on the theme of the male figure in Japanese art, contextualizing the birth and rise of the samurai icon, naturally at the Edoardo Chiossone Museum of Oriental Art. <\/p>\n\n

Animals in Medieval Bestiaries, until December<\/strong>: the Giacomo Doria Natural History Civic Museum hosts the exhibition dedicated to animals in the Middle Ages, particularly focusing on bestiaries, with their characteristic way of interpreting and describing the nature that surrounds us.<\/p>\n\n

Events in Liguria in August 2024<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Palio del Golfo of La Spezia<\/strong>, from August 2nd to 5th: the Palio has reached its 99th edition this year, with a rich program of shows and events.<\/p>\n\n

Levanto Music Festival Amfiteatrof<\/strong>, from August 10th to 28th: the festival returns to commemorate Massimo Amfiteatrof<\/a>, a Russian cellist who spent much of his life in Levanto.<\/p>\n\n

Lerici Music Festival,<\/strong> until August 11th: between Lerici, Sarzana, Ponzano Magra and Portovenere, a packed program of concerts in the Gulf of Poets.<\/p>\n\n

Borgio Verezzi Theatre Festival<\/strong>, August 14th: the last meeting with the 58th edition of this famous national theatre festival, with the closing show “Dreams”.<\/p>\n\n

The White Madonna in Portovenere<\/strong>, August 17th: the annual appointment with the White Madonna returns, a religious festival deeply felt by the Ligurians.<\/p>\n\n
