This stretch is off-limits for motorboats, but it can be reached by SUP, canoe, or inflatable. It&#8217;s truly worth it!  <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>44\u00b0 10&#8242; 52\u201d N, 8\u00b0 24&#8242; 25\u201d E<\/b><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/it.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Isola_di_Bergeggi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Isolotto di Bergeggi<\/a><strong>, a heart-shaped island<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-21100 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/marinaportoantico.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/ponente-ligure-bergeggi.jpg\" alt=\"western Ligurian coast Bergeggi\" width=\"300\" height=\"270\">Protected by the marine protected area, the waters surrounding this true pearl of the Western Ligurian coast amaze with their transparency, the richness of the seabed, and the marine life that inhabits them, making it a must-visit for lovers of <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">snorkeling<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">sea watching. In addition to plants, in the deeper areas you can find moray eels, lobsters, damselfish, and monkfish specimens. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Also called <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the island of Sant&#8217;Eugenio, it was once connected to Bergeggi by a now-disappeared strip of land, c<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ontains important historical and archaeological evidence (including Roman remains and monastic buildings). The island of Bergeggi is one of the few nesting sites for the magnificent yellow-legged gull. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>44\u00b0 14&#8242; 02.8&#8243; N, 8\u00b0 26&#8242; 41.3&#8243; E<\/b><\/p>\n<p><strong>Baia delle Sirene and Spiaggia degli Inglesi<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-21104\" src=\"https:\/\/marinaportoantico.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/baia-delle-sirene-e-spiaggia-degli-inglesi.jpg\" alt=\"Baia delle Sirene and Spiaggia degli Inglesi\" width=\"250\" height=\"375\" srcset=\"https:\/\/marinaportoantico.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/baia-delle-sirene-e-spiaggia-degli-inglesi.jpg 533w, https:\/\/marinaportoantico.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/baia-delle-sirene-e-spiaggia-degli-inglesi-200x300.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/>In front of the Isolotto di Bergeggi are these two beautiful coves, hidden like pearls among the rocks, whose names are already a call.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The first with a highly evocative title, the second owes its name to the thrilling story of the English ocean liner (Transylvania), sunk during World War I off the coast by a German submarine. The wreck was discovered on October 6, 2011, at a depth of 630 meters. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In recent years, these bays have not been fortunate, having suffered damage from storms, the land route is now impassable, their beauty is also due to the fact that they are not easily accessible and still very wild.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>44\u00b0 14&#8242; 20\u201d N, 8\u00b0 26&#8242; 38\u201d E<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>44\u00b0 14&#8242; 29.4\u201d N, 8\u00b0 26&#8242; 41.6\u201d E<\/b><\/p>\n<p><strong>Saracen Bay<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-21108\" src=\"https:\/\/marinaportoantico.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/ponente-ligure-baia-dei-saraceni.jpg\" alt=\"western Ligurian coast Baia dei Saraceni\" width=\"440\" height=\"294\" srcset=\"https:\/\/marinaportoantico.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/ponente-ligure-baia-dei-saraceni.jpg 768w, https:\/\/marinaportoantico.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/ponente-ligure-baia-dei-saraceni-300x201.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 440px) 100vw, 440px\" \/>In the locality of Malpasso, at the foot of the promontory west of the Castle of Varigotti, we find the Baia dei Saraceni, thanks to its crystal-clear waters and white sandy seabed, it rivals a Caribbean bay. The vertical rock walls that embrace it and the very few constructions in the surroundings contribute to a suggestive and unspoiled scenario. Here you can anchor to enjoy magnificent dives in the anchorage (no less than 200 meters from the coast). The nearby coves and inlets offer beautiful views and are almost exclusively accessible by sea.   <\/span><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><b>44\u00b0 11&#8242; 2&#8243; N, 8\u00b0 24&#8242; 31&#8243; E<\/b><\/p>\n<p><strong>Noli and Capo Noli<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-21112\" src=\"https:\/\/marinaportoantico.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/noli.jpg\" alt=\"Noli\" width=\"440\" height=\"292\" srcset=\"https:\/\/marinaportoantico.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/noli.jpg 768w, https:\/\/marinaportoantico.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/noli-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 440px) 100vw, 440px\" \/>Moving further west, we encounter the final stop: Noli. An ancient maritime village, with its typical car\u00fcggi, it is one of the most characteristic villages of Western Liguria, with a still intact medieval center, Noli definitely deserves a visit on foot with its small restaurants and its history waiting to be discovered, but the coasts facing the sea are a true paradise: the majesty of the cliffs of Capo Noli, the crystal-clear sea are a breathtaking snapshot of suggestive beauty. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>44\u00b0 12&#8242; 25.38\u201d N, 8\u00b0 25&#8242; 3.864\u201d E<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>44\u00b0 11&#8242; 48&#8243; N, 8\u00b0 25&#8242; 33&#8243; E<\/b><\/p>\n<p><strong>Isola di Gallinara between wrecks and yellow-legged gulls<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-21116\" src=\"https:\/\/marinaportoantico.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/ponente-ligure-isola-di-gallinara.jpg\" alt=\"western Ligurian coast Isola di Gallinara\" width=\"440\" height=\"293\" srcset=\"https:\/\/marinaportoantico.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/ponente-ligure-isola-di-gallinara.jpg 768w, https:\/\/marinaportoantico.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/ponente-ligure-isola-di-gallinara-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 440px) 100vw, 440px\" \/>Sailing west to Albenga, we finally find the Isola Gallinara, whose seabed is considered a Regional Reserve. A true paradise between nature and history.  <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The island is named after the <\/span><b>wild hens<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that once populated it, today it is home to one of the largest colonies of <\/span><b>yellow-legged gulls<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in the Ligurian Sea.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Separated from the coast by a channel averaging 12 meters deep, it is turtle-shaped; the island is largely covered by typical Mediterranean vegetation, surrounded by <\/span><b>jagged coasts<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> bathed by crystal-clear water.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Punta Falconara and Punta Sciusciau are the most appreciated diving spots: in the former, the statue of Christ the Redeemer is submerged, while Punta Sciusciau is the perfect area for those who want to admire an endless variety of aquatic animals: octopuses, groupers, moray eels, and sponges.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the surrounding seabed of the island, various <\/span><b>wrecks and artifacts<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> have been found, including some dating back to the 5th century BC.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>44\u00b0 1&#8242; 25&#8243; N, 8\u00b0 13&#8242; 36&#8243; E<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.marinaportoantico.it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Marina Porto Antico<\/a> is strategically located; exactly halfway between the Eastern and Western Ligurian Riviera.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Those who have a <\/span><b>berth in Genoa <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">or are just passing through, cannot overlook that with short navigations, you are already there, in those rare and precious places that we invite you to discover!<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We recommend six enchanting pearls of the Western Ligurian coast reachable by boat from Marina Porto Antico.
