• October 3 and 4, Genoa Urban Music Marathon 2025: the G. Modena theater in Sampierdarena hosts the debut of GUMM – Genoa Urban Music Marathon, a contest for emerging artists
• From October 3 to 5, Book Pride: the National Independent Publishing Fair returns to Palazzo Ducale for its 9th edition; this year’s fair is built around a quote from American writer Ursula K. Le Guin, “dancing at the edge of the world.”
• October 4, SportAbility Day: the MySport Village Sciorba sports facility hosts the fifth edition of the most important sports festival for all abilities, featuring a soccer field, athletics track, swimming pool, and spaces for about 40 disciplines.
• October 5, Cornigliano Fair: the traditional and beloved fair returns to this Genoa neighborhood (between Sampierdarena and Sestri Ponente), featuring local products and events celebrating tradition and entertainment
• October 9 and 23, Tasters of Genoa: four thematic meetings are scheduled at the Auditorium of Municipality IV Media Val Bisagno, as part of a cultural and food and wine education project. October’s events will focus on Genoese focaccia and pesto, while November’s meetings (on the 6th and 20th) will be dedicated to vegetable pies and pandolce.
• From October 11, Moby Dick – The Whale: Palazzo Ducale inaugurates an exhibition that presents a journey through art and literature, exploring centuries of artistic and cultural representations of the legendary white whale.
• October 12, Historical Parade “The Cloisters of Columbus’s Time”: the traditional parade will start from Columbus’s house and reach Piazzale Mandraccio, just steps from our port of Genoa, at the historic ship Antares, where the landing in the New World will be reenacted.
• October 13, GOG new season opening: the Norwegian Chamber Orchestra opens the new season, with an emblematic comparison between two masterpieces of the string sextet repertoire: Johannes Brahms’s Sextet in B-flat major Op. 18 and Arnold Schönberg’s Verklärte Nacht Op. 4.
• From October 15 to December 12, Festival of Female Excellence: the festival, conceived and directed by Consuelo Barilari, reaches its 21st edition with 32 scheduled performances – mainly at the National Theatre of Genoa. The program includes 7 national premieres, opening with five comedy shows between October 15 and 19.
• From October 23, Science Festival: one of the most important international science communication events takes place once again between Palazzo Ducale and other venues in the center of Genoa.
• October 24, Genoa for You: the final phase of the Genoese talent show is open to the public with free admission, featuring 8 finalists from across Italy and 8 young Ligurian performers. The event takes place at the Teatro della Gioventù.

• From October 3 to 5, XXXIII National Truffle Festival of Val Bormida in Millesimo: this ancient medieval village comes alive for three days with stands, exhibitors, concerts, exhibitions and shows, as well as truffle hunting competitions.
• October 4 and 5, Sarzana Timeless: two full Renaissance days, with the Firmafede Fortress hosting the reenactment of the 1487 war between Lorenzo il Magnifico’s Florentines and Gianluigi Fieschi’s Genoese; including parades and workshops.
• From October 10 to 12, The Anchovy Leap, in Laigueglia: this event of flavors and stories reaches its 14th edition, featuring sea performances, gastronomic exhibitions, shows, and conferences.
• From October 17 to 19, 72nd Sanremo Rally: the city of flowers will host nearly 250 crews, building on a long motorsport tradition. Consider that the first Sanremo Rally was held in 1929!
• October 18 and 19, Pumpkin in the Square in Rocchetta di Cengio: Rocchetta pumpkins and other Valle Bormida specialties on display and for sale at this now-traditional Ligurian fair.
