Opening the dance of events for the 2022 boating season will once again be the famous Cannes Yachting Festival. There, in the heart of the French Riviera, the eyes of all boating enthusiasts will be focused from September 6 to 11, to discover the best that this sector has to offer in 2022. What awaits us with this new edition?

The numbers from last year’s edition of the Cannes Yachting Festival

Certainly last year’s edition raised the bar: we are talking about a festival that, after two years of absence due to the health emergency, amazed all participants with 6 days of very high-quality exhibition. Just look at some numbers to realize this. There were a total of 575 exhibitors, with a total of 620 boats (of which 141 were world premieres). And there was certainly no shortage of visitors, who totaled almost 55,000.

What awaits us at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2022

The exhibition will open its gates to the general public on Tuesday, September 6 at 10 AM, to close them on Sunday, September 11 at 6 PM. There is certainly no shortage of time, therefore, to discover everything that the most prestigious shipyards internationally have decided to present on the sunny coastline of the Côte d’Azur, in the heart of the beautiful city of Cannes.

As is now tradition, the Festival will take place in two adjacent locations. On one side the Vieux Port, among the most beautiful and ancient ports of the French coast, which extends toward the sea from the heart of the city, right in front of the Lérins islands. In this port, in the 2022 edition, there will be space for over 500 motor boats, ranging from 5-meter craft to the largest boats of 45 meters. The exhibition dedicated to sailing boats – between 10 and 28 meters – will instead take place on the other side of the Croisette, at Port Canto. Here 120 brand-new sailing boats will gather, both monohulls and multihulls, with visitors able to admire over 20 world premieres. It should also be noted that in the Brokerage & Toys area of Port Canto there will also be a space dedicated to used boats, available for sale or charter, with sizes ranging from 22 to 56 meters.

Some of the gems we will see at the Cannes boat show

Selecting the most interesting proposals that will find space at the new Cannes boat show is anything but simple. Think for example of what has already been dubbed as an SUV of the seas, namely the Brabus Shadow 900 XC Black Ops, which luxuriously exploits each of its 37 feet to provide more luxury and more power, so as to deliver a cruising speed of up to 40 knots. But think also of the Grand Soleil 40, younger brother of the already two-time world champion, designed for couple cruising as well as, obviously, for crewed racing. And there will certainly be space for catamarans too, with the Excess 14 and with the Aura 51, which in the version designed for Cannes 2022 features electric propulsion. A place of honor will be reserved for luxury mega yachts, including Baglietto, Bering, Danados and Ferretti.

In short, this year too the Cannes Yachting Festival has prepared an exhibition of enormous interest.
