You have booked your berth at our marina in Genoa, and you are planning how to
make the most of your time at Marina Porto Antico? You should know that our marina
is not only rich in services, protected by the outer breakwater of the Port of
Genoa, and featuring a small dock that shelters Genoese gozzi and leudi boats. What makes our
marina unique is also its privileged position, right in the historic center of Genoa.
This means that many destinations are actually very close to our berths: it takes just a few
minutes on foot to reach most of the city’s main attractions! Here, for example,
is a list of what to do and see within just a 10-minute walk from our berths.

Attractions just a 10-minute walk from Marina Porto Antico in Genoa.
The Genoa Aquarium: the magnificent Genoa Aquarium is located just 700 meters from
our marina. It is certainly a must-see destination for visitors to Genoa,
featuring the Seal Island, the Shark Bay, the Jellyfish Room, the Antarctic Room,
the Abyss Room, the Seahorse Room, and so on. About 15,000 animals of 400 different species await you!

The Bigo: in the immediate vicinity of the Genoa Aquarium, in the heart of the Old Port, you’ll find
the famous Bigo, designed by starchitect Renzo Piano. But what is the Bigo? Besides being an
unmistakable structure, it’s a remarkable panoramic elevator that offers a 360-degree view
of Genoa’s vast historic center, reaching a height of 40 meters.
Eataly: also in the Old Port area, Eataly awaits you, a brand supported by Slow Food
that, as is well known, rewards and promotes the high quality of Italian food and wine. Do you want
to prepare something special on your boat, starting with chef-approved ingredients? Then
this is the right store for you!
The Biosphere: many Genoese call it Renzo Piano‘s Bubble. We’re talking about a
glass and steel structure, spherical in shape, which with its 20-meter diameter houses a
tropical rainforest, where tropical turtles, birds, fish, and insects move about.
Galata Maritime Museum: the largest maritime museum in the Mediterranean, which captivates
everyone with its 12,000 square meters of exhibition space and especially with the famous Nazario Sauro
submarine, moored in the sea outside the museum.

Genoa Museum: a museum for football enthusiasts, entirely dedicated to the history
of Genoa Cricket and Football Club, the oldest active club in Italy.
Via del Campo: from our marina, it takes just a few steps to reach Via
del Campo, a street made famous by Fabrizio de André that for many boaters represents the
gateway to Genoa’s historic center, being crossed by the city’s famous caruggi (narrow alleys).
Cathedral of San Lorenzo: in 10 minutes – or a little more walking at a leisurely pace – from our
marina, you can reach the famous 12th-century cathedral, which among other things hides
an unexploded ordnance from World War II, fired at Genoa by the British.
Via Garibaldi: one of the most famous streets in the historic center, it houses elegant and stately palaces,
including the Palazzi dei Rolli, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2006.
Basilica of Santissima Annunziata del Vastato: finally, just a few steps from our
marina in Genoa – we’re talking about 300 meters – you’ll find this golden church, which in the past impressed figures such as Montesquieu and Charles Dickens. A
brilliant basilica, enriched with 17th-century frescoes and Genoese paintings from the late Mannerist and
Baroque periods.
