Are you thinking about a vacation in Liguria for this summer 2024? Or perhaps what you have in mind is a
cruise with your boat among the beauties of the Tyrrhenian Sea and the Ligurian Sea, and you are therefore looking for
“must see” places near our tourist marina in Genoa? Today we will explore together the 10 most
beautiful beaches in Liguria, some of which are actually close to our berths, so they can
be reached quickly even by public transport by those passing through Genoa; others
instead are distant, to be possibly included in a multi-stop cruise along our stunning
coast.

The 10 most beautiful beaches in Liguria
1- Camogli Beach
You have moored your boat in our tourist marina in downtown Genoa, and you are looking for a beach to
reach comfortably by public transport? Camogli could be the perfect choice, with its equipped beaches
alternating with free ones. The choice is very wide, ranging from rocky coves and
beaches with rounded pebbles, to classic sandy beaches.

2- San Fruttuoso Beach
We are still in the territory of Camogli, and therefore not too far from our tourist marina,
but this time further east, in the Portofino Regional Park. Not surprisingly the pride of the municipality of
Camogli, San Fruttuoso Beach immediately captivates you with its unforgettable scenery,
dominated by the famous Abbey of San Fruttuoso di Capodimonte and, a few meters away, with the
towering Doria Tower, which overlooks the entire bay. This beach can only be reached
by sea (possibly also with a boat that connects the town of Camogli to the Abbey) or
on foot, with an excursion through the nature of the Park. Are you not a person who likes to spend
the whole day on the beach? Then perhaps you might be interested in the fact that right here in front, at 17
meters depth, the Christ of the Abyss awaits you, an unmissable destination for
diving enthusiasts!

3- Paraggi Bay
Sailing east from San Fruttuoso, once you pass the town of Portofino (but before
Rapallo) you come across the beautiful Paraggi Bay. Here the water is crystal clear, the sand is fine, and
there is certainly no shortage of exclusive venues for those seeking a bit of nightlife: here, between the Castle of
Paraggi and the Niasca cove, it feels like being in a postcard. It should also be said that this
stretch of sea lends itself both to diving and snorkeling, due to the great variety of fish
present.
4- Guvano Beach
It is certainly not possible to compile the top ten of the most beautiful beaches in Liguria without venturing into the
Cinque Terre. But what is the most beautiful beach in this area? For many, the primacy belongs to
Guvano Beach, in Vernazza. We are talking about a beach that is still natural today and yes, also a bit
wild, which not surprisingly in past decades has been frequented particularly by hippies and
nudists. With its dark sand mixed with pebbles, it is reached by following a short steep
path.
5- Monterosso al Mare Beach
But certainly in the Cinque Terre there is not only Guvano beach. At least the stunning
beach of Monterosso Al Mare should also be mentioned, which is perfect for those seeking a
bit more services: compared to the wild previous one, Monterosso beach is in fact more
urbanized, with beach clubs, venues, sports equipment for rent, bathrooms and umbrellas. Here there are no
trails: the beach is reached simply by walking through the town center, to comfortably
step on its light sand and dive effortlessly into the waves of the Ligurian Sea.
6- Saracens Bay
We completely change area: this time we are in the Riviera di Ponente, in Varigotti. The narrow
shore of gravel and sand dominates a bay surrounded by nature and bathed by a clean sea
rich in life, also thanks to the peculiar emerging rocks, home to many marine species. It should
also be said that the beach of Saracens Bay pairs with the nearby Malpasso Beach,
which however, unlike the first, requires payment of an entrance ticket.

7- Bay of Silence
We return to the metropolitan city of Genoa, this time to Sestri Levante, at the eastern cape of the
Gulf of Tigullio. Here, in an inlet of the coast, there is a small corner of paradise where
the urbanization of the coast has been able to harmonize perfectly with the sea: just behind the
beach there are small houses with very bright colors, creating a completely
unique scenario. There is no shortage of services for tourists, who can reach the white sand beach
and rocks by walking for about 15 minutes from Sestri.
8- Bergeggi Beach
We move to Savona: here too we find a beach that cannot be missing from the top 10
most beautiful beaches in Liguria. Sometimes made of rocks and sometimes covered with sand, Bergeggi beach
is embraced by a steep cliff overlooking the sea. From here, it would not even need to be
emphasized, several excursions depart towards the island of Bergeggi; there is no shortage of bathrooms and
venues.
9- Pietra Ligure Beach
We remain in the Savona area with this urban beach that extends along the town of Pietra
Ligure: this is the right beach for those seeking comfort, services and restaurants, without
having to say goodbye to the beauty of the sea and the context.
10- Punta Crena
We finally close our top ten of the most beautiful beaches in Liguria with a little-known beach,
small and wild, which is reached on foot (along a path to be tackled only with
sure footing) or by swimming from your boat, or again, using pedal boats or canoes: there are those who define
these few square meters of sand hidden between steep cliffs as the most beautiful beach in
Liguria! This earthly paradise, not very easy to reach, is located halfway between the already
mentioned Saracens Bay and the Varigotti pier.
