Liguria and Genoa What to Do in October 2024: the Events

Autumn events begin in Genoa and Liguria: perhaps it’s the opportunity to plan one
of the last Sunday boat trips, to reach our capital city by mooring at the
berths of our tourist marina in Genoa? There are truly never lacking excellent reasons to visit Genoa!

October 2024 events in Genoa

· October 3, Genoa Start 2024: the white night of Genoa’s art galleries returns, with 24
participating exhibitors for a highly anticipated 19th edition.
· October 4-6, European Cup Boulder: Piazza delle Feste at Porto Antico in Genoa, just a
stone’s throw from our berths, hosts the second and final stage of the international boulder circuit,
which will crown the European Senior winner of sport climbing in this specialty.
· October 4-6, Book Pride 2024: 500 square meters of books, 180 events, 100 publishing
houses for Book Pride – the National Independent Publishing Fair, featuring major names from
national and international literature and publishing.

· Until October 5, Exhibition of Alpine troops in Liguria: the National Alpine Association – Voltri
Group displays at the Rosanna Benzi Library an extensive collection of materials related to
the history and deeds of Alpine troops, from photographs to uniforms, including equipment and
historical documents
· Until October 6, Poets and heroes. From brush to sword: last days to discover this
special exhibition set up in recent months at the Edoardo Chiossone Museum of Oriental Art, which
narrates the male figure in Japanese art, starting from two central figures of traditional culture: on
one hand the artist, on the other the hero.
· October 6, Cornigliano Fair: the traditional October fair of the Genoese district of
Cornigliano returns, with merchandise stalls and various initiatives, with music and entertainment.
· Until October 13, Caruggiadi: the Caruggiadi program continues in the first part of
October. The first two weekends of the month – as happened in the last two weekends of
September – will bring vibrant sports stages to the city, giving the public the opportunity to
experience the most different sports disciplines.
· October 11-13, A weekend in the Middle Ages: three days to discover medieval Genoa, with
three major parallel events, namely Ianua Genova in the Middle Ages (from Friday 11 to Sunday 13
October), the Regatta of the Ancient Maritime Republics (Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 October) and
Genoa and Columbus Day (Saturday 12 October). It will be, among other things, the opportunity to discover the
most relevant medieval sites of the historic center – and therefore just steps away from our tourist marina in
Genoa – with the accompaniment of scientific communicators.
· October 18-20, Red Bull Cerro Abajo: the world’s most spectacular urban downhill race
comes to Genoa. An extreme competition, which fits into the busy program of Genoa
European Capital of Sport. The cradle of the competition is the Chilean city of Valparaíso, which is not
coincidentally known as the “Genoa of the Pacific,” due to the similarity of urban architecture, as well as the presence of many Ligurian emigrants. The race will gather the 30 best riders
worldwide.
