The Blue Flags in Liguria in 2024

Which are the best beaches in Liguria? It sometimes happens that boaters mooring in the
berths of our tourist port in Genoa ask us this question, to better organize their
days along the Ligurian coast. Well, there are indeed many factors to define which are the most beautiful beaches,
and some are also subjective. Certainly, to understand which beaches
most deserve to be seen and experienced, the important recognition of
the Blue Flags can also help: which are the award-winning beaches in Liguria in 2024?

What the Blue Flag means

The Blue Flag is a special certification awarded each year by the Foundation for
Environmental Education (FEE), based on 32 criteria. The landscape and natural beauty of the coast obviously count a lot,
but in the list of conditions to be met, there are also
factors such as the sustainability of the beach and the area as a whole, waste management,
inclusivity, and water quality. More specifically, the criteria
used by the FEE are divided into the categories of Environmental Education and Information, Water Quality,
Environmental Management, Services, and Safety. These criteria are updated over time,
also to push the various municipal administrations to do more to present to the public
beaches of high and undoubted quality, as well as to raise the bar for respect and protection of
the environment.
But which are the Blue Flags in Liguria in 2024? And which of these are in the province of Genoa,
to be easily reached even by those mooring in our berths?
