Events in Genoa October 2023
From October 4th to 7th, the “Genova per voi” talent show: the Genoese talent show in its 10th edition, with selections at the Department of Architecture and the final on Saturday, October 7th at the Teatro di Strada Nuova, in Via Garibaldi.
On October 7th, the “Children’s White Night“: in its 12th edition, the Children’s White Night is dedicated this year to the theme “The Imaginary Garden”. From 3:30 PM, in the Maddalena district, a celebration and many moments of gathering, starting from children’s imagination.
From October 6th to 8th, at Palazzo Ducale, the “Book Pride” fair: the national fair of independent Italian publishing returns to Genoa – Italian Book Capital 2023 – with seminars, lectures, and meetings in various locations around the city.
From October 5th to 10th, “Genova Jeans 2023“: the city of Genoa is the cradle of jeans, the protagonist fabric of the fashion world. The name of the fabric itself comes from Janne, the name of Genoa in Old French; the Genova Jeans event transforms the city into an open-air laboratory, with exhibitions at the Metelino Building, at the MEI, at the Risorgimento Museum, and at the Diocesan Museum, as well as workshops, training and information sessions for professionals and jeans lovers.
From October 13th to 15th, Rolli Days: the Rolli UNESCO World Heritage Sites reopen to the public, with a rich program of guided tours and events. As Genoa is the Italian Book Capital this year, special attention will be given to the presentation of precious and ancient volumes (the slogan for the October 2023 Rolli Days is indeed “Leafing through history”).
Until October 15th, at Palazzo Ducale, the photographic exhibition “The Country“: a journey along the 4,365 km of Italian coasts, summarized in the Liguria Hall of Palazzo Ducale, to present an unprecedented image of our country. The exhibition consists of unpublished photographs by Stefano De Luigi and a short film by Michela Battaglia, narrating the photographer’s journey.
From October 26th to November 5th, the “Science Festival“: one of the most important scientific dissemination events at an international level, the festival takes place between Palazzo Ducale and other Genoese locations: topics will include sustainability, artificial intelligence, robotics, and so on.
Throughout October, until November 13th, the collective exhibition “Mosaic on Paper – 20 di mare“: just a 5-minute walk from the boat moorings of our tourist port in Genoa to reach the Galata, where these days an interactive installation of works printed on 20×20 and positioned one after the other on a large wall is hosted, creating a large photographic mosaic.

October 8th, “Chestnut Festival” in Andagna: among the woods of the Argentina valley, a stone’s throw from Triora, the Andagna Pro Loco celebrates autumn.
From October 12th to 22nd, in Savona, “Bonsai in the Fortress“: the Priamar Fortress in Savona hosts the 2nd edition of the exhibition dedicated to bonsai.
From October 31st to November 1st, in Triora, Halloween: 2 days of shows, workshops, markets, magical rituals, and costume parades in the witch village of Triora (where numerous witch trials were held in the past).
