Summer is over. Again! Yet here in our Genoa marina you can still breathe in the beautiful season to the fullest, and there are many Italian and international boaters who moor in the marina to discover the beauties of Genoa and its surroundings. Whether it’s because many people cannot – or do not want to – take vacation in August, whether it’s due to the increasingly widespread desire to get away from mass tourism, or because many people’s desire is to avoid the hottest summer temperatures: one way or another, between September, October (and even November) there are really many boaters who set course for Genoa. And while it’s true that on beautiful September days it’s hard to see the difference from the summer months, in October you’ll start to breathe a different air: temperatures drop, days get shorter, nature’s colors shift toward autumn hues. Knowing that many of you plan to pass through these parts and moor in our Genoese marina, let’s see what to do in the city in autumn!
What to Do in Genoa in Autumn
We’ll say it: the autumn sea in Genoa is even more beautiful. So the first thing we recommend to those visiting our city from September onwards is a beautiful walk along
And then of course there’s the historic center, to be discovered without fear of higher temperatures: the opportunity is to get lost among the caruggi, to take guided tours of the Rolli UNESCO World Heritage palaces, to discover what the ancient noble palaces of the Superba conceal within.
For those who want to do some outdoor sports once off the boat, September, October and November are among the best months to tackle the “Genoa trekking routes,” discovering the trails that connect the city’s forts, offering magnificent views of Genoa itself as well as the valleys and hinterland.
All this knowing that in these months Genoa will host events of all types and sizes: ranging from the unmissable Boat Show to concerts, to the great autumn fairs.

What to Do in Liguria in Autumn
And if from our Genoa marina you wanted to broaden your view beyond the city and even the province? Well, autumn in Liguria is rich with opportunities and curiosities. There’s no shortage of regional parks where you can plan walks and excursions among the autumn foliage. And why not visit the magnificent Ligurian villages? These months are perfect for treating yourself to a visit to the Cinque Terre, knowing that you’ll be able to tour these villages in tranquility, without the crowds of the summer months.
In the autumn months, moreover, Liguria is enriched with many events to liven up the weekends: we think of the Communication Festival in Camogli, the National Truffle Festival of Val Bormida and Millesimo, Sarzana Senza Tempo as well as festivals related to transhumance!
Sailing in Liguria between September, October and November
