January 2025, Events in Genoa and Liguria

January, new year, events in Genoa and more generally in Liguria, there is always something to do, try, taste, or admire. As every month, we gather the main and most interesting events in Genoa and other Ligurian towns, knowing that during the winter many friends of the Genoa marina are looking for “other” activities compared to boating, typically on hold during the colder months of the year. After all, it’s a classic: just step away
a few steps from the berths of our marina in Genoa to be amazed by the many offerings of the historic center. Here are some suggestions!

The Befana markets of Genoa, until January 6: with the Christmas markets formally closed on December 24, until January 6 in Piazza Matteotti, the Befana markets take place, with stalls dedicated to crafts, objects, gastronomy, and much more. Winter Park 2024, until January 19: at Ponte Parodi, the fun continues even with the new year, with the amusement park delighting young and old with rides, stilt walkers, popcorn, and cotton candy. Events in Liguria in January 2025
The plunges before Epiphany: after those in December, the first month of the year also presents its “sparkling” dives into the winter sea. Among the winter plunges in January, we remember those of Andora and Levanto on January 1; Ospedaletti on January 2; Ceriale on January 3; Bogliasco on January 4; and Laigueglia and Pegli on January 5; and Finale Ligure and San Terenzo on January 6.

The last weeks of the nativity scenes: with January, the lights on the Ligurian nativity scenes go out. It is worth mentioning at least one, which will remain visible until the 31st of the month: we are talking about the famous luminous cemetery of Manarola, the most photographed in the region, which with its 240 silhouettes illuminates the Cinque Terre.

Exhibition of Master Gigi Caldanzano, until January 26, in Savona: in Via Nostra Signora dell’Olmo 9, a painting retrospective dedicated to Master Gigi Caldanzano and 20th-century Savona.
