The counting methods are numerous. According to ENIT – National Tourism Agency, along the 7,700 kilometers of Italian coastline, there are a total of 537 tourist ports. In another survey, the same ENIT states that there are 285 ports in total, plus just over 2,000 berths; looking instead at the count made by Assonat, National Association of Tourist Ports and Landings, the number of tourist ports and landings exceeds 800 units. Everything depends, obviously, on what one wants to define as a tourist port and what not.

What is certain is that there are not many tourist marinas that are equipped exclusively for pleasure boating: as recalled by a report from Confindustria Nautica, in this case we are talking about less than 90 ports.
