What to do in Genoa in August 2025
August 1st, Gianluca Gotto in Genoa: as part of Porto Antico EstateSpettacolo 2025, Gianluca
Gotto returns to Genoa with a talk dedicated to Ayurveda.
August 2nd, The Inn of Lost Time: at Castello D’Albertis, a performance by the
Teatro Bunkerlak company, offering a journey to discover forgotten stories and possible worlds.
August 3rd, A medieval island in the heart of Genoa: a unique opportunity to taste Ligurian products
and to learn more about the history of the city, with a guided tour including Casa Colombo,
Chiostro di Sant’Andrea, and the Walls of Barbarossa.

From August 7th to August 21st, Muses and Heroines. Women in Japanese Art between the 17th and 19th centuries: the E. Chiossone Museum of Oriental Art hosts a temporary exhibition focusing on Japanese women,
going beyond stereotypes.
August 15th, Stories of Men and Travels: Castello D’Albertis Museum of World Cultures opens
its doors even on Ferragosto for a special guided tour dedicated to Captain d’Albertis and

production by Chierici Cicolella, an adaptation of William Shakespeare’s text.
August 24th, Red Bull Cerro Abajo: the adrenaline-pumping urban downhill competition returns to Genoa,
with free and open access.
From August 24th to 26th, Northwest Passage: among the last events of Porto Antico
EstateSpettacolo 2025, a choral reading dedicated to the legendary passage through the Arctic ice.
On August 28th and 29th, The Legend of Moby Dick: at the Island of Barges, the Chierici
Cicolella company evokes the myth of Melville’s novel.

What to do in Liguria in August 2025
From August 1st to 4th, Palio del Golfo in La Spezia: this year the palio celebrates its centenary, with
a historic edition that will feature a parade of boats, crews, and allegorical floats, followed
by races on Sunday, with many side events.
From August 5th to 9th, Medieval Cairo: five days of festivities in the historic center of Cairo Montenotte,
with allegorical and historical parades.
From August 12th to 16th, Pigato Wine Festival: in Salea d’Albenga, a showcase of Pigato wine and
Ligurian food and wine.
From August 10th to 14th, L’Addiu du Fantin in Cogorno and La Torta dei Fieschi in Lavagna: between
